Spratling designed this lovely work of art in the 1940's. The sterling silver basket holds 3 hand carved chalcedony stone flowers in varying shades of color. The brooch measures 2 7/8" across X 2 1/2" high & weighs 47 grams. The pin is in beautiful condition & fully hallmarked for Spratling on the reverse. A carefully crafted copy of one of Hubert Harmon's Mexican designs, this fabulous sterling silver and amethyst belt buckle is anonymous yet, as quite often is the case, the lack of a signature does not affect the piece's quality and beauty. Based on the workmanship I suspect this may be a Casa Maya example. Casa Maya issued many of Harmon's designs in brass primarily yet they did make them in sterling as well and quite often pieces in their parures went out in the marked without full hallmarks...

Rare and beautiful Intertwined Curving X Cuff in 940 silver by Hector Aguilar. It is featured on page 151 of the catalogue from the William Spratling and the Mexican Silver Renaissance Exhibit "MAESTRO DE PLATA" and also on page 19 of the book SILVER MASTERS OF MEXICO by Penny Morrill. Fabulous 1970s signed Gucci goldtone metal and light and dark amber geometric modernist design guilloche enameled link long necklace which can also be worn as a belt. Marked GUCCI and MADE IN ITALY. This wonderful, sterling silver charm displays George Washington and troops crossing the Delaware River on that cold winter evening, December 25, 1776. A nice pair of Edwardian doubled-sided 14K yellow gold cufflinks, the faces decorated in a combination of matte reserves flanked by polished foliate plaques. The design hints are the arrival of Art Deco. The “bowtie” connectors are decorated, as well, and are marked “14K”.

Sensational (3) piece set with three- strand necklace and bracelet with spiky brushed gold beads accented by faceted spacers. Strung on string. Marked (crown) Trifari on clasps. The necklace is 18" with an additional 3" extender, the bracelet, 7-1/2". The earrings are for pierced ears and hang 1". The earrings are unmarked.

A very handsome pair of Art Deco 14K yellow gold double-sided cufflinks, the faces set with garnets. The design is completely reversible so the cufflinks can be worn with either the rectangular plaques or the navette cabochons facing forward. The connectors are stamps that were used in Prague before 1921. There is also an unidentified maker's mark.

This lovely necklace, circa 1960's is called a Sautoir. It is fashioned like the earlier Edwardian style of the sautoir. Simply, a long necklace with tassels. This piece has a goldtone, 26" link chain with a springring clasp. The chain has a large, faux, textured pearl, with 3" long tassels.

A bit of history for your lapel During the Victorian era, every young gentleman had to make his Grand Tour, picking up souvenirs along the way. Lava cameos (actually made from a very fine-textured limestone) made into jewelry were highly sought after. We can visualize this as a gift from a young man to a blushing Victorian maiden!
