Here is an impressive, hand-constructed pendant of wound thick wire around a square piece of polished spectrolite. The stone has a lovely iridescence, and internal yellowish bands. The pendant is permanently attached to a thick chain that has no clasp; both the chain and pendant are silverplated; the pendant bears the impressed mark of Walter Arnesen, Copenhagen (1968-1973). The entire necklace, including pendant and chain, drops 15 inches.

At ~ 27", longer would be too heavy. 12mm frosted glass or crystal faceted beads resembling camphor glass, while the faceted "French jet" black beads are wafers, bicones, rhondells and 18mm discs for a very, very Art Deco look. This Reinad rhodium and gold plate base metal pin with rhinestones is Chanel-like variant is circa 1941. Marked Mexico Silver on the back. Probably 980 which is better than sterling and was commonly used at the time. Measures 6 1/2" long, 1/2" wide and 3/4" high. Box clasp holds securely.

A fascinating 18K yellow gold cocktail ring featuring a "forma livre" (free-form) amethyst by the famed mid-century Brazilian designer Haroldo Burle Marx. Burle Marx invented the technique of carving and tumbling forma livre stones in 1948, and the style became his signature.
