Elyse Ashe Lord 1900-1971 British This is a fine hand colored etching by British artist Elyse Ashe Lord. The title is Kite Flying, created and printed circa 1925. This pencil signed impression was sold by Arthur Ackermann in New York. This came to us in the original Asian style frame with the Ackermann label on the back. The image measures 12 7/8X18 inches. The overall frame measures 20X26 inches. Very fine condition. Printed on a thin Japan type sheet.

Gerald Leslie Brockhurst 1890-1978 English This is a fine original etching by British artist Gerald Brockhurst, The title is La Tresse, a portrait of his wife Anais done in 1926. Arthur J. T. Briscoe, British, 1873-1943, "Flooded Decks". This incredible image by the British etcher, Arthur Briscoe, measures 8 1/8 x 15 3/8 inches, inked signed and numbered, 73/75, created in 1931. Briscoe studied at the Slade Art School and the Academy Julian in Paris and then spent the rest of his time sailing, becoming one of the most prominent British marine artists of the 20th century. He owned his own three ton cutter which he used to sail around the Essex coast...

A striking mid-century painting from Mexico, glowing with color, by the hand of listed artist JORGE EDGARDO RAMIREZ (sometimes followed by MARTINEZ), born 1940. Jules Pascin 1885-1930 French This is an orignal pencil signed lithograph by French artist Jules Pascin, the title is: Le Lever, created and printed 1925, the image measures 10 1/4X7 7/8 inches. catalog Hermin 5. This lithograph is signed lower right, lightly but still visible. Printed on a medium weight wove type sheet.

A pair of oil on card paintings, each signed lower left, by C. Ph. Weber. The first is of a church and churchyard behind a rock wall. The second depicts fishing along the Delaware river. Typical of the artist's work is the fine use of light and color, rendering an almost impressionistic feel.

Condition of the paintings is very good, with no damage or restoration...

Unframed 1959 lithograph print 'Card Players', numbered in pencil lower left 100/100, and pencil signed lower right. The print is now in a protective sleeve with clear plastic sheet (through which a few photos were taken---allow for reflections). The sheet size is 20" by 26". The print is reverse-taped at top edge, in three places, as shown, and is NOT laid down...

Manuel Robbe, French, 1872-1936, "Claudine," colored etching and aquatint, plate measures 12 x 9 3/4 inches on 24 x 17 3/8 inch arches laid type paper. Print 26 in an edition of 65. C. 1903. Published by Sagot, Paris. Robbe studied at the Academie Julien and the Ecole des Beaux Artes, becoming a master of the aquatint medium. He developed much of his own aquatint techniques, which enabled him to create his uniquely painterly, richly colored images.

Joseph Pennell 1857-1926 American This is a fine original etching by American artist Joseph Pennell. The subject is, The Ferry House, The Cortlandt Steet Ferry from the Jersey City Side. This etching is hand signed in pencil, the image measures 12X10 inches, printed on an antique laid type sheet. This was sold originally by Schwartz Galleries in New York. This impressive etching is nicely framed with collectors annotations on the back,

It is known as the portrait in the little hat. This pencil signed impression is the 3rd state of 4 with the edition of 25. It was later published in state 4 with an edition of 350. This lithograph was created and printed in 1926. The image measures 9 1/8X6 3/4 inches. This image is cataloged as F. 57.

A portrait miniature of a young and handsome man unabashedly directly facing the viewer. He is dressed in the height of fashion, wearing a black jacket, light orange cravat (which nicely matches his hair), and a white vest. Presented in a gilt cast foliate case, the reverse of which features a glazed tightly woven field of plaited hair.

Because of the convex glass, the photos unfortunately show reflections, white streaks, dots, and shadows, none of which are in the miniature...
