A very early watercolor landscape of a thicket and meadow at sunset, signed at lower left corner and dated there 1887 (or 1897?) by the noted Indiana artist JOHN ELWOOD BUNDY (1853-1933). The work, 5" by 8" (11 1/4" by 14 1/2" in frame) bears many color notations on the reverse, likely in the artist's handwriting, giving us some insight into the creative process. The scene is very peaceful and calming, showing us day's end...

A truly beautiful circa 1890 print of elegant Parisians strolling past and perusing the famous Bouquiniste bookstalls along the banks of the Seine River, not signed in plate nor in pencil but certainly by a listed or even important and well-known artist. To date, reverse image searches and other internet research have, frustratingly, not revealed the identity of that artist. There are no watermarks...

This is a charcoal with white highlights fine original drawing of a male head on a plinth, the head appearing as would a Greek or Roman marble sculpture. The work, 16 1/4" by 12" (22" by 18" framed), is signed at bottom by the Austrian artist RUDOLF ZELENKA (1875-1938) and is dated nearby 1894. The drawing would likely be an academic study by the artist at age 19, while receiving art education...

David Y. Cameron 1865-1945 British This is an original pencil signed etching by British artist David Young Cameron. It is titled: A Dutch Farm, art of his North Holland Set. This etching was created and printed in 1892. The image measures 4 5/16 X 8 15/16 inches.Printed on an early laid type sheet with collectors stamp lower corner of the border. This etching came to us with 1/8 inch margins on three sides.

Stanley Anderson 1884-1966 British This is a rare early drypoint etching by British artist Stanley Anderson. The title is: Perivale, a small town outside of London. This etching was created and printed in 1911. The image measures 5 3/4X9 5/8 inches. Hand signed in pencil lower border and titled lower left border. Printed on a medium weight watermarked with initials, laid type sheet. Fine use of plate tone in the sky area.

Tavik Frantisek Simon, Czechoslovakian, 1877-1942, "Boulevard Saint Martin in Winter". A wintry day on a busy tree-lined street in Paris is the subject of this color aquatint etching by T. F. Simon. Published in 1914 in an edition of 200 it measures 12 1/4 x 14 1/2 inches. Pencil signed on the l.r. with a watermark on the l.l.

Watercolor painting of a scene that appears to be a youngster with adults at the entrance of a school, a total of five figures in the composition. The work, 13" by 10 1/4" (20" by 18" in a contemporary gold frame, no mat) is signed at lower center by well listed German artist CARL HUBNER (1814-1879). Hubner was educated in art at the Art Academy in Dusseldorf. He received instruction from Carl Ferdinand Sohn and Wilhelm von Schadow...

This is a remarkable original etching by William Lionel Wyllie, image size 9 1/4 x 14 inches, c. 1900, pencil signed, titled on the lower edge of the sheet. Wyllie was a well known marine painter and printmaker in early 20th century London. He studied at the Heatherley School of Fine Art, then at the age of 15 began his studies at the Royal Academy...

Warren Davis studied at the Art Students League in New York and became known for his etchings of idealized female figures, many of which were used on the covers of Vanity Fair and Life magazines. Later in his career Davis exhibited in Europe and the United States including the Pennsylvania Academy and the Salmagundi Club...

Maria Ada Gianni 1873-1956 Italian This is a fine original gouache painting by Italian artist Maria Gianni. The scene is the Bay of Naples with Mt Vesuvius in the background. The painting is signed lower left. The image measures 5X12 1/2 inches and came to us in what appears to be the original early frame which measures 8X16 inches.

Large watercolor painting, 21 1/2" by 29", 34 1/2" by 42" as presently framed, the subject traditional old bells hanging in a California mission tower, the blue sky visible through the opening, two white doves conveniently flying through the image, signed at lower right somewhat indecipherably and dated there 1989. The luminous work might have been painted as a prop for a movie or tv show, as markings/label on the reverse indicate. Condition is excellent...

Offered for the collector of Picasso's posters is an example of 1957's "Pates Blanche", created for Cannes' Galerie 57, printed by Devaye Imprimeur. Measuring 22 1/4" by 17 1/4", the poster is technically described as an offset lithograph. The blue areas look like a traditional lithograph process, while the image in gray within the circle has the tiny dots of traditional printing. The poster is scarce, with a total edition of only 500 printed, and that over 60 years ago...
