This is great Serigraph done by renown artist, Michael Young...

A mixed media and collage work 22" by 18 1/2" (29" by 25" in metal frame, and behind Plexiglas for safe shipping) by the French mid century impressionist artist ROGER ETIENNE (1922-2011). The painting is signed at lower left by the artist and dated there 1981. Etienne is known for mid century drawings of young nudes and clowns, and big eyed children, with French newspaper often incorporated into the image, collage style...

For the dog aficionado, especially those who prize the terriers, a 24" by 30" pastel of two white dogs lounging most comfortably on cushions in an upscale interior, while staring out placidly at the viewer. The piece is apparently signed in monogram at upper right within the oval, the monogram seemingly "AVB" or something similar. For a time I thought the work unsigned, but, the monogram does indeed appear to be a signature...

An example of the etching originally dating to 1891, "Sitzender Mannlicher Akt" (Sitting Nude Man), by famous German artist KATHE KOLLWITZ (1867-1945). The sheet measures 7" by 6" inside the mat, 16" by 15" as framed. This is a circa 1946-48 posthumous edition on cream wove paper, with the A.V.D. Becke blind stamp from Berlin Halensee impressed at lower right (which I have tried my best to photograph). Kollwitz was born in Konigsberg in the old East Prussia...

A very colorful and whimsical MCM or "Retro" painting of doll-like figures appearing as a hybrid between clowns and Raggedy Ann dolls, by the noted California-based painter at mid century, PAUL BLAINE HENRIE (1932-1999). This circa 1960's or 1970's oil or acrylic on canvas measures 18" by 24" (23" by 29" framed). Condition is excellent, the original goldish frame a bit dusty and dulled by age. Signed at lower center and appears to be dated there "66"...

An etching titled at lower left margin "A View of Rotterdam", signed with initials in the plate at right and dated there 1910, and pencil signed by the artist at lower right margin. The panoramic view would have been created when the artist was in his early 30's. The well-educated Gleeson studied at the Art Students League in New York with William Merritt Chase and Francis Mora, at the Saint Louis School of Fine Arts, at the Academie de la Grande Chaumiere in Paris...

A nicely painted waist length portrait, done on organic material, of an attractive woman with dark brown eyes and hair. The sitter, posed in front of a reddish-brown drape, is wearing a black gown with a lace collar cinched with a brooch matching her earrings. A gold chain with two pendants completes her outfit. Presented in a later gilt frame.

The painting is in excellent condition with no issues. The sight size is 2 1/2" by 2" and the framed size is 5 1/2" by 4 1/2".

A beautiful silvery-themed oil on Masonite painting of birch trees in a snowy winter landscape, by the noted California artist VERNON KERR (1938-1982). The work measures 20" by 16" (27 1/2" by 23 1/2" in silvery-goldish frame), is signed at lower left and signed again and titled "Winter Sleeping" on reverse, along with the artist's reference numbers and copyright statement. This is an excellent example of Kerr's work, likely dating to the 1960's or 1970's...

Oil on thin card painting of a scenic rocky promontory and turquoise seas, possibly oil on thin canvas laid on card, 9 1/8" by 12 1/8", (14 1/2" by 17 1/4" framed), not signed on front, but on reverse in pen (ballpoint, possibly) is some writing in Russian. A Lithuanian friend who reads Russian said it appears to say the subject is "Gurzuf", which is a popular spot and favorite artist's subject in the Crimea. Furthermore, she says there is an artist's name that appears to be "Semyon Gu......",...

A wonderful, color-filled painting from Haiti, the subject a tropical village and its various ingredients.....pigs, chickens, and close to FORTY colorfully-clad figures going about their daily lives. An excellent oil on canvas example of the painting of Spanish artist EDUARDO PISANO (1912-1986), measuring 25" by 21" (31" by 27" in silvery attractive framing/liner). Subject is a clown or other generalized comic figure with a lute/stringed instrument. Pisano is considered a member of the "Spanish School of Paris", along with figures like Clave, Peinado, Emilio Grau Sala, Oscar Dominguez, Pedro Flores, Gines Parra and Manuel Ortiz de Zarata.
