This note was written by Robert Craft and discusses Maki's use of an archaic form of Chinese script called seal script.

This note discusses Haku Maki's Poem 70–14. Poem from the Manyoshu, and the sources of the kanji he used to create the print. The note was written in August 2019 by Robert Craft.

A very rare Han Dynasty Chinese Terra Cotta Guanyin sculpture measuring 16” in height. The sculpture with traces of polychrome. Dressed in fine clothes, it was made as an object of worship and most likely had a bouquet in her left hand, as a symbol of marriage. An incredible rare piece for the advanced collector.

This small carved two tone agate snuff bottle is 2 5/8” high, 1 ¼” wide and 5/8” thick. The artist used two darker spots to carve as two fish. This makes the double gourd shape snuff bottle unique. It is very well hallowed, polished and in great condition.

This unusual and inventive designed leaf shape snuff bottle is 3 inches tall 2 ½ inches wide and less than 1 inch thick. The color is from beige to burgundy and very well polished and hollowed. This carved agate contemporary snuff bottle is 2 ¾” high, 1 ¾” wide and 1 ¼” thick. The lighter part was carved as “Buddha hand citron” shape and used as the body of the bottle. The darker color agate was carved into a small bug which is resting on the fruit. It is well hollowed, polished and in great condition.
