This is a painting on artist board, 22" by 14" inside its narrow modern framing, titled on the reverse in ball point pen "Avocado Tree", signed at lower right "Harry Lieberman" and dated there "62". HARRY LIEBERMAN (1876-1983) was a Polish-born, long-lived artist who didn't begin his artistic career until late in life. Lieberman had been preparing for the rabbinate but emigrated to the United States in 1906 when nearly thirty (some give his date of birth as 1880 rather than 1876)...

This is a fine original drypoint etching by American artist Walter Tittle. The title is: Church of the Heavenly Rest, which was built in New York City in 1929. Acquired as one of a number of works by late Bozeman, Montana artist MARION "MAL" LEWIS (1925-2010), this is a fine collage work, undated, titled "Moonlit Night" on original sticker, not framed (just matted), likely from late in the artist's life. While traveling through Montana I came upon a group of mostly collage, abstract works by this artist, though there is at least one non-abstract work, a New Mexico drawing, that I will be listing. This measures 10" by 18 3/4" inside the present mat...

The Gallery published large prints after the paintings in a portfolio that reached 72 prints...
A circa 1990's signed oil on canvas painting of a coastal scene, 8" by 15", approximately 15" by 22" framed, signed lower left by acclaimed contemporary California artist RITA HOFFMAN SHULAK (1947-). I contacted the artist online, and she was kind enough to respond that this was her work, a not completed painting, probably of the La Jolla rocks in San Diego. She said that the work is from a period when she was experimenting with "washes"...
Daniel Tretiak chose to number this note 32, with no explanation of why there were no other notes between 28 and this one. In this note he focused on Poem J, a 1966 print that had just emerged (in 2019).
Note 10 part II continues to discuss the evolution of Maki's prints.
