Her work is shown worldwide. This is one of seven pictures we have. It is mounted on silk brocade. The entire area is 19 inches by 29 inches; the picture size is 13 inches by 18 inches.

An unusual and difficult to photograph trio: two heavy copper etching plates and one tin or zinc lithograph plate, the latter signed clearly Emil Kosa Jr., and one of the copper plates signed with reverse-etched conjoined initials that spell out EK and probably also "Jr". All were acquired by me at the same time, so, I believe it likely that all three are by the hand of the noted California artist EMIL KOSA, JR. (1903-1968)...

Florine Hyer was an Iowa-born artist who became known for her exquisite paintings of roses. She was in Los Angeles by 1898, and remained there her entire life with the exception of the year 1908, when she assisted the botanist Luther Burbank at his home and gardens in Santa Rosa, in Sonoma County north of San Francisco. Burbank is reputed to have said, "Florine can paint roses better than gardens can grow them"...

Woman with a Cat, oil on canvas 30”x24” Foussa Itaya was born in 1919 in Foukouoka, Japan and finished his studies at the school of Beaux Arts in Japan. He has exhibited at the Salon Nikakai and in 1953 went to Paris to exihibit his works. In 1955 he exhibited at the Drouant-David Gallery, and many of his works are on exhibit at the Israel Museum, Carnegie Hall in New York, the Japanese Embassy in Paris, and in Switzerland as well.

This colorful print is an early Maki embossed print. It is a quite small print done in a very low run. Only 30 copies were made. Maki started doing 50 copies by 1962. Earlier he may have lacked the confidence to do runs of that size so he did 30 as shown here The three red suns are dramatic, The print is signed in white ink, an early Maki touch.
