From our Southeast Asia Collection, a superb original and signed acrylic painting on canvas depicting an Indonesian Barong Dance. Though this particular piece does not share the same museum provenance as our other Barong Dance offering (see item # 938720), we think it is at least of equal merit. Some may even think it is superior...

A nicely worked painting of a lovely flamenca dancer in Spain, circa 1950's, 20 1/4" by 16 1/2" plus narrow frame, signed at lower right by listed artist CESAR VILOT. Vilot was active at mid century, and is known for his alluring paintings of females both nude and dressed, some painted in the style of Jean Gabriel Domergue. The painting has even soiling consistent with age, and a few minor abrasions, see at left below flounce of dress and to her right about 1/4 of the way down...

Samuel Palmer 1805-1881 British This is an original etching by British artist Samuel Palmer. The title is "The Early Ploughman" It was created in 1861. The image measures 5 1/4X9 7/8 inches. THis is the 6th state of eight. Printed on a medium weight laid type paper. Partial watermark visible upper left. This image appears in the Palmer catalog as image number VII.
