This work was done during the late 1930's as part of the 'Cooperative' project in the New Hope, Pa. modern art community. Charles Ramsey, Louis Stone and Charles Evans worked collectively on many drawings and paintings during this time...

Etching on paper, 1923, measuring 9" by 13" (15" by 18 3/4" framed---no glass), titled "La Lagune--Venise" in pencil in lower right margin, signed in pencil at lower left margin and numbered there 80 from an edition of 100, by the important artist EDGAR CHAHINE (1874-1947). The influence of Whistler's similar graphic works and drawings featuring Venice is very obvious, what with the big sky and tiny silhouettes of the buildings on the horizon far away...

James McBey 1883-1959 Scottish This is a fine hand signed etching by British artist James McBey. The title is: A Mirage, it was one of his Venetian series, created and printed in , 1928 in an edition of only 76. This image measures 11 13/16X14 3/8 inches. This image was published in Fine Prints of the Year in 1928. Fine use of plate tone in the sea and sky.

Pastel on paper drawing of desert mountains and cacti, 17" by 23" (24" by 30" framed), signed at lower right in pencil and dated there 1922 by listed southwestern American woman artist BETH MacLAFFERTY BLAKE (1901-1993). This would have been among the earlier works of an artist who was born in Berkeley, California and went on to become a well regarded talent in the Southwest. Blake was a pupil of Perham Nahl, Ray Boynton, Hans Hofmann, Chiura Obata, Karl Neuhaus and Millard Sheets...

Antique floral watercolor, the subject white wild roses, 11 1/2" by 7 1/2" (17 1/2" by 13 1/2" framed in light oak), signed at lower right "M. S. Robison". The paper is loose under the mat and has slipped, as photos of corner/edges show. Re-set in proper position and enjoy this well-executed piece.

Watercolor and gouache painting on paper of a wooden house surrounded by trees and shrubs, 11" by 14" inside the mat (16" by 20" as framed), signed at lower left "N. Belij" and dated there "-30". This is a work of listed Finnish artist NIKOLAI BELIJ (1896-1968). I do not know a lot about the artist; most of the information about him on the net is in Finnish or Swedish. Works by him have been offered at auction in Scandinavia...

Offered together are **THREE** identically framed drawings on paper, one 9" by 9", the second 11" by 9 1/2", the third 11 1/2" by 9" (all identical frame sizes, 19" by 17"), not apparently signed on the paper itself, though I have not opened these up to see inside, but bearing plaques "E. PASCUAL MONTURIOL" and each bearing an old rubber stamp on the reverse framing paper proclaiming "This painting is guaranteed as original by Parker-Edwards Gallery"...
