Drawing, I believe in charcoal, 12 3/4" by 18 1/2" inside the matting, framed, but no glass, signed at lower left "M. Moss" and dated "March '93", the subject a large wooden house on a lake surrounded by mountains, small boats tied up in front. I think this is American but I suppose it could also be English; I'm undecided..........though, the framing suggests would make me lean towards American, as the reverse was backed by the typically American wood slats with knotholes...

PAIR of unsigned watercolors from Japan, one featuring a seaside beacon or shrine, the other small boats along a coast, a volcano (possibly Mt. Fuji) in the distance. The works were found intact and identically framed, but in shipping one frame essentially broke apart and may not be serviceable at this point. One painting measures 4 1/4" by 11 1/2", the other slightly smaller at 3 3/4" by 10 3/4" (and that one 9 3/4" by 17 1/2" framed)...

An old oil on canvas laid on board painting of the northern San Francisco waterfront around Fort Mason, along with a panoramic view to Angel Island and Marin County beyond, unframed, 11" by 14", signed at lower right "Whited". There is only one listed artist with the last name, an (Elva) Viola Whited of Texas, which internet search reveals likely birth/death dates of 1902-1983. This could be our artist or could be someone totally unrelated...

The painting is by a trained hand, the depth of the landscape and the majesty of the mountain captured with skill. The painting is in excellent condition.

The work is in need of a frame but otherwise is ready for display. Presently there is an inner frame remnant but no true frame.

On the reverse in ink is written the artist's full name, Sergei Nemirovski, and the date, 1998. Measuring 9 1/2" by 6 3/8" inside the mat (16 1/2" by 13 1/4" in simple wood frame), the piece is very clean and ready for the wall.

Watercolor painting of a harbor, probably Maine, signed at lower right corner by artist M. Matheson and titled in pencil on the reverse, appropriately, "Quiet Harbor" (with original $35.00 price). The work, on heavy watercolor paper, measures 15 1/2" by 22 1/2". It having slid down under the mat due to the old tape losing its grip, I removed this from the mat and frame, which are (possibly) available at no extra charge. The fairly ordinary frame measures 22 1/2" by 27 1/2"...

This is an etching on paper, 7" by 6" (12" by 9 1/4" framed) by Tennessee born artist JAMES CARL HANCOCK (1898-1966), titled "THE GATE OF THE LIONS NEW ORLEANS LA." at lower right and signed in pencil below and dated there 1939. This is a view of old French Quarter New Orleans by a talented etcher. Hancock was self taught and in 1938 a book of his etchings, drypoints and sketches was published. An example of the 1957 poster of a seated nude, titled "Andre Derain Dessins", by Galerie Maeght. The lithograph is framed in a silver metal frame with orange backdrop.
