Born in Washburn, Missouri, Edgar Payne became one of the foremost plein-air landscape painters of California in the early 20th century. He is best known for his majestic Sierra Nevada Mountain scenes, and depicted so many Indians on horseback riding through the Sierra Nevada Mountains that a mountain lake, Lake Payne, was named for him. David Y. Cameron 1865-1945 British This is a rare original etching and drypoint by Scottish artist David Cameron. The title is: Wingless Chimera, Amiens Cathedral, it was created and printed in 1911. Hand signed in pencil, this etching measures an image area of 7 5/8X9 3/8 inches. Printed on a medium weight laid type sheet. This image was exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1911. This image appears in the Rinder catalog as image number 416.

Mother and Sleeping Child by Joseph Spelter, 1840. Genre Scene. Framed Oil on Canvas, 22 x 20". Joseph or Jacob Spelter (ca.1805-after 1856) was a pupil of J.M. Morgenroth and royal portrait miniaturist at the Wuerttembergian Court in Karlsruhe (Germany), where he was recorded active until 1856. Especially known are his miniatures painted on porcelain. Spelter died in 1856.

An old oil on gray board painting of a stone bridge over the Seine River in central Paris, in high autumn. The work measures 9" by 12" (11 3/4" by 14 3/4" in attractive maybe 1930's frame). The signature at lower left appears to be "E Turner", the "E" placed on top of the "T". If I am reading this correctly, there does not appear to be a listed artist that would correspond. In any event, the work is excellent, and by a trained hand.
