Found in New Hampshire, this is an antique unsigned watercolor of a rocky coastline, sailing boats on the horizon. Measuring 13 1/2" by 19 1/2", the work on paper is glued down to an 1893 Salem, Massachusetts legal directory, the edges of which are crumbling. Those edges should probably be trimmed, and the watercolor then framed to preserve it for another century. Though simple and monochromatic, this is a work well worth preserving. One corner is brittle.

Oil on canvas still life painting, 16" by 20" and 22 1/2" by 26" framed, the subject several ceramic objects, including an oriental figure, an elephant, and a lustrous plate. The painting is signed at lower right "Elsie Crosam" or "Crosom", "Creson", or similar. The piece would be an excellent practice work for a budding restorer as there is a major rip in the center, as shown; or you might buff up the frame a bit and use it with another painting. There is light wear on it.

Very large (48" by 48", unframed), decorative, attention-getting oil on canvas of a family of three musician performers in a park setting, painted in a humorous fashion, the family in costume and appearing clown-like, by the French mid century impressionist artist ROGER ETIENNE (1922-2011). The painting is titled on the reverse "Jour de Fete" (Holiday), inscribed "Pour Renon", and signed by the artist and dated 1972...

Fine old 19th century watercolor painting of a cavalier-type figure and a woman trying the new batch of wine as it comes from the cask, a friendly dog lazing at right. The painting measures 10 1/4" by 13 1/2" inside the mat, (presently essentially unframed, the frame is in poor condition and is very inexpensive to begin with), signed at lower right by artist Gamba da Vinza. A nicely done watercolor in natural material portrait of a young woman. Complementing the blue background, the sitter is presented with blue eye shadow and a blue ribbon and bow in her hair. The glazed reverse of the gold filled case is covered with a nice display of woven hair plaits.

Condition is excellent, with a case size of 1 7/8" by 1 5/8".
