There is some water staining of the very lowest portion of the mat...

ONE OF A NUMBER BY THE ARTIST IN MY SHOP**This is a small etching (the sheet 6" by 8 1/4", presently in an old tired mat but not framed), by the noted California artist HARRIET GENE ROUDEBUSH (1908-1998), titled at lower left margin "View From Top of the Mark" and pencil signed at lower right by the artist. The artist depicts a bird's eye view looking north towards Alcatraz and Marin County beyond, from the top of Nob Hill, on which the Mark Hopkins Hotel so famously sits...

Impressionist small contemporary painting of a knoll in sunlight and shadow, 8" by 10", unframed, unsigned. This is a quickly executed work, almost a sketch in oil, by an anonymous but skilled artist. It is in excellent condition. The regular size would facilitate buying a suitable frame at a modest price.

Color etching titled "La Mare" ("the pond"), featuring a whitewashed two story country house or inn by a dirt road next to a pond, signed in pencil below the image "de Croisset". There is a printed label on the backing stating that this is a limited edition. A search by this name does not reveal a listed artist; I suggest that this might be a pen name/pseudonym. The date is probably circa 1930's to about 1950 at the latest...

By the noted illustrator artist RICHARD STINE (1941-) this is a print, "Mad woman trying to bury delicate feelings once and for all", hand signed in blue ball point at lower left. This does not seem to be a limited edition but it is hand signed. Stine is a familiar name due to his uniquely humorous and whimsical images, which though cartoonish delve into philosophy, and, an online description writes, "love, art, freedom, isolation, desire, conflict, dreams, creativity"...

1936 Framed Lithograph by Boyer, signed in pencil "sous il eclus", Sight Size 9 x 7", Frame Size 15 x 12".

Likely painted for the southern tourist trade between about 1920 and 1950 or so, is this oil on a slice of palmetto wood, roughly oval shape, approximate dimensions 10" by 13", the slab 1" thick, signed at bottom left in the image "A. Donhauser". This locale could be anywhere from Texas through Georgia, given the Spanish Moss on the tree. The palmetto slab is unusual and adds interest. An unusual item. There is a small loss on the tree trunk.

Nineteenth century lithograph print issued by Sarony Major & Knapp, lithographers, 449 Broadway, New York, after a painting by Stanley. The print measures 6" by 9" inside the mat and 10 3/4" by 14" in gold frame.

An original gouache on illustration board drawing of a native American dancer performing the "eagle dance" of the Southwest, measuring 8" by 6 1/2" (12 1/2" by 11" in wood frame), signed at lower right by artist H. Kunkle and dated '79. Definitely an original gouache drawing, not a serigraph or reproduction of any kind. See close-up images. I have not been able to locate information on an artist by this name. The work is loose in the frame, needs to be nailed in again...

Oil on masonite painting of grapes, apples and pitcher/plate on a table top, 16" by 20" (20" by 24" in oak frame), signed at lower right and again on reverse in pencil by California artist Marion Ellison (1898-1997). Ellison was a Midwesterner who moved to Southern California, becoming involved there in the art scene...

Impressionistic oil on board painting of an early 20th century American house, probably in the Midwest as this was framed in Missouri, 11 1/2" by 15 1/2" (14" by 18" framed). The scene is one of tranquility and prosperity. The house would have probably dated to about 1920, but the painting is contemporary. The signature appears as possibly "Ursula Lee". This is ready for the wall.

Highly detailed gouache on silk painting, 7 1/2" by 16 1/4" (11 1/2" by 20 1/2" as framed), unsigned, featuring approximately 75 to 80 figures participating in some kind of ceremonial procession. The work, circa 1960's or 1970's, is framed with bamboo style frame. There is a water stain at lower left in the mat area, which is actually composed of a thin wood veneer...

Pencil signed by the artist at lower center and numbered 274/450 at lower left, is this contemporary black and white print, 8 3/4" by 10 1/2" inside the mat, 17" by 19" framed, the poetic and whimsical subject a young woman gently cradling in her arms a black cat, while seated on steps in a vaguely defined setting, perhaps a back garden. BARBARA A. WOOD, the artist, is from Ohio but also has spent considerable time in California, and, I believe, Georgia...

For the collector of botanical drawings and art, a nice unframed 11 7/8" by 9 3/8" floral watercolor drawing highlighted with a little gum arabic in the nineteenth century tradition. It is not signed, but I think at lower left in old faint pencil it says "yellow aralia", and at bottom, very faint and barely visible, there is a lot of illegible pencil writing. This likely dates to the 1860's to 1880's period...

Gouache on paper still life with iris and porcelain figurine of a woman, 20" by 15 1/2" and narrow gold frame of the period, signed at lower left with what appears to be "g. r. becker", and bearing in German script a Christmas (Weihnachten) 1941 dedication, the work apparently given as a gift, on the reverse framing paper. I do not see a listing for a name that would match this signature so am offering this as a decorative work. The condition is excellent as this appears to have never been op...
