I do not see a listing for an artist of this name. The work likely dates to about the 1950's I would think, and is probably still in its original frame. This is one of three works I am offering, by a talented Canadian mid 20th century painter who signed her works "Eola Sutherland". Although there is online a photo of a gravestone for an Eola Hayton Sutherland (1884-1967) of Ontario, likely our painter, there is a lack of biographical information on the artist. An old watercolor painting titled at lower left "Atitlan Guatemala", signed at lower right by artist "M. Moody". This may be a listed watercolor artist by the name of Marion Moody but that cannot be confirmed. The work is well handled, the old architecture and five foreground figures nicely painted. Lake Atitlan is a famous scenic lake in central Guatemala, ringed by volcanic peaks and popular with tourists to this day. The painting measures 9 3/4" by 13" (13" by 17" framed).

ONE OF A NUMBER BY THE ARTIST IN MY SHOP**This is a small etching (the sheet 6 1/8" by 4 1/2", respectably matted but not framed), by the noted California artist HARRIET GENE ROUDEBUSH (1908-1998), titled at lower left margin "Temple Emanu El /S.F." and pencil signed at lower right by the artist.
