Late 19th century American watercolor painting of sheep in a country landscape with trees, 12" by 24 1/2" (21" by 33 1/2" framed), signed at lower right with initials "S.M.G.". The artist might be hard to identify but the work resembles watercolors by such artists as Carl Weber (see example in my shop). The artist has used a combination of watercolor and white gouache. Condition is excellent. The gold frame has age and there are some missing pieces.

Drawing, I believe in charcoal, 12 3/4" by 18 1/2" inside the matting, framed, but no glass, signed at lower left "M. Moss" and dated "March '93", the subject a large wooden house on a lake surrounded by mountains, small boats tied up in front. I think this is American but I suppose it could also be English; I'm undecided..........though, the framing suggests would make me lean towards American, as the reverse was backed by the typically American wood slats with knotholes...

Three drawings in pencil on gray-blue paper, each 7 1/2" by 12" approximately inside the mat, all of coastal scenes with multiple figures, sailing ships and even dogs and donkeys. Two are signed with the "W C" initials and are dated Nov. 1866; the third one with conjoined initials is titled "Falmouth" (a city in Cornwall, on the southwest coast of England) and is dated 12 June 1867...

A watercolor miniature portrait done by Richard Morrell Staigg. The sitter is a nice-looking blue-eyed young man in a black coat and cravat, with a light blue vest. As is usual with Staigg, the painting is superbly limned. It is housed in one half of a leather case.

The condition is excellent, with no problems whatsoever. Sight size is 3 1/2" by 3".

A circa 1840 engraving of the famous column in the Place Vendome, central Paris, titled "Colonne de la Place Vendome", with "Rouargue freres del & sc" at lower left. A really well painted antique small watercolor of yellow roses, 6 1/4" by 8 1/4" in strip frame, signed at right with what looked to be LCTiff----When I purchased this in San Francisco area in the 1980's or early 1990's I thought it possibly a turn of the century work by Louis Comfort Tiffany. The exceptional thing about this piece is the wonderful high karat gold flip case with guilloche work (engine turning) on the front and back. Signed "Inman 1842" along the right edge, this fine miniature portrait is purportedly of Theodore Roosevelt's grandmother.
