Peonies and Delphiniums’ by Eva Wedlow, circa 1920’s, signed lower left, oil on panel, 26.5” x 31”. Typed paper stapled to the reverse of the work reads “x515 Original English oil on panel - a floral still life of iris, peonies and delphiniums By Eva Wedlow”. A portrait of an elderly man is on the reverse of the panel. Eva Wedlow was a ‘flower society painter’ of the 1920’s, highly considered by aristocrats at the time.

Alexander Ney Russian American contemporary sculptor "Running Tiger" mid 1970s incised brown clay with a holes under side for mounting to a base, base not included. Detailed Indonesian painting in the classic style from the island of Bali, Indonesia, painted in tempera on cotton canvas laid on board, measuring 21 1/4" by 17". The painting is unusually well executed compared to many from this "school" of painting; the artist was of above average talent, though he or she did not sign the work. Note the expressions on the faces, the intensity of the dragon, the spotted mysterious forest creature monster at lower left. Condition is excellent...

Oil on canvas, 17" by 9" and thin original wood frame, signed lower left "M Stuart", depicting a young woman in greenish gray paint. This is more a work of figural art, really, than mere portrait. The sitter is unknown, as is the artist; there is a listing for a Mimi Stuart (1959-) but I am not convinced this is by that artist. Signature looks as if it could be by a British hand, judging from the style of writing. It is a professional signature, though, and this is not a work by an amateur...

W.T. Carlsen Danish born Canadian Artist who work in Canada and Scandinavia. Known for his rich harbor scenes. This work dates from the 1970s and is done from his memory of Denmark. The work is oil on panel and measures 24 x 24“, and is framed in a beautiful 1970s era drift wood frame measuring 32 x 32“

Watercolor, 9 7/8" by 14" inside the mat (16 1/2" by 20 1/2" as framed), signed at lower right "N. White". This is a work showing, no doubt, the clipper ship Joseph Conrad, berthed at the Mystic Seaport in Connecticut. The clipper was built in Denmark in 1882 and was renamed as the Joseph Conrad. It was built strictly as a training ship. The artist, NELSON COOK WHITE (1900-1989) painted a lot of marine subject matter, and a number of these works have appeared at auction in New England...

Etching on paper, 16 1/4" by 14 1/4", with narrow metal framing, pencil signed at lower right by artist, who, if I read correctly the Russian on the reverse, is one VLADIMIR KOSTROMIN. An old original label on reverse has a 1978 date, so I would imagine the print dates to the late 1970's. The ink is a greenish black. Moisture has compromised the margins and mold stained and rippled them; reframing would help exclude that...
