Hand signed in pencil, this etching measures an image area of 7 5/8X9 3/8 inches. Printed on a medium weight laid type sheet. This image was exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1911. This image appears in the Rinder catalog as image number 416.

This is an antique Corpus Christi "Cristo Morto" from the late 16th century Renaissance period. It was made after a model by Guglielmo Della Porta.

The sculpture is of excellent quality fire-gilded bronze, finely cast with a hollow back and pierced with nail holes, then hand-finished with an artist's tools and gilded. I have looked for the name Robert Swasey in standard art search sites and have not located a known recognized painter by this name...
